Weddings, celebrations and events in general are made up of traditions making events so momentous. They are either passed down from countless generations, cultural, religious and/or familial customs. While visiting in Greece we noticed the relative similarities in ceremonial traditions amongst the Greeks and our events, a universal connection symbolizing family, love and unity. I have to say, it’s quite moving.

We were fortunate to witness a traditional Greek wedding in Santorini. I know… How great is that! Secretly I was hoping we would. Well, it was unforgettable. The day was filled Greek music, the Zorba dance, authentic Greek cuisine, delicate decorations adding to the beauty of the island and the liveliest people having a ball. So many little customs so relative to our traditions from the breaking of the glass to drinking of the blessed wine. Sometimes we forget that we are all connected somehow, even all the way across the world. From each trip we love taking back something and incorporating into our lives and events. This allows for growth and diversity while maintaining our core values and cultural roots. Nonetheless this was a very humbling experience and we are ever so blessed we were a part of it. Now that we are back we and in full swing of things, we will definitely incorporate some of our inspirations into our events.                 Screen Shot 2014-07-24 at 2.04.28 PM Screen Shot 2014-06-18 at 12.28.57 PM

The BIG DAY is rapidly approaching and planning for it has been incredibly exciting and fun! To kick start the festivities our lovely mother of the bride hosted a fabulous Bridal Shower for the Bride-to-be. It was spectacular; the event was hosted as the bride’s residence, which allowed for boundless creativity. The outdoors were adorned with white linens, super-sized balloons, and a white seamless dance floor. The gourmet al fresco dining was none other than grandiose. A specialty fresh seafood station served made-to-order dishes for each guest. A fresh juice station paired so well with the milieu of the event. Adding a splash of zest, Henna tattoo artists designed whimsical patterns for guests. All the while a Gypsy King inspired band played amazing music. What a way to stimulate all the senses! Loved this bridal shower and love this amazing family!

Well, what other way to describe this event! Our venue was at the lovely Beverly Hilton and we were elated to work with this amazing family whose matriarch was utterly creative. Her touch of hand-made accents adorned the ballroom adding to the style and creativity of the event. Golden gates embellished with white orchids and a chandelier led to the dance floor. Our bat-mitzvah girl’s candle lighting looked immaculate with hanging glass goblets above the chandelier. Guests enjoyed a delicious fresh fruit station, a French press gourmet coffee and tea station and flapper girls served sweets. The crimson roses, gold frames and cascading orchids paired so well with the venue adding character and highlighting the inner artistry.
